The Sugar Bowl Challenge!

Well I thought I would get back to cards and what better way put to join in a challenge and as I am joining the House of Sugar, I thought I would join in The Sugar Bowl Challenge.
The Sketch for this challenge was done by Marlene, who is in Orlanda at the mo, at the CHA, lucky lady!!

Plus the added challenge of adding Doodles somewhere on the creation.

This is what I came up with. I bit of a zingy card!

I have used my new Manga Anime Stamp from Sugar Nellie, I love them just waiting for one more then I have the ful set.

The flowers I have layered up are Sizzix Sizzlets, They are gorgeous. I think the top layer really looks like a brad..........

..........with an added bit of bling.

Here is the doodling, there is lots more all over the card, once I started I couldn't stop!

Look at the dimension of these beautiful blooms!

Card Recipe:

Image: Sugar Nellie's Manga Anime, coloured using combination of Promarkers and Stampin' Up Markers
Ink: Memento, Old Olive from Stampin' Up
Cardstock: Certainly Celery and Old Olive from Stampin' Up, Oddments of Orange and Pink for Flowers, and other layers
Paper: My Mind's Eye from Trimcraft, Bazzil Bling from Stash
Sentiment: Stampin' Up Set: Sincere Salutations
Accessories: Buttons and Fibres from My Mind's Eye, Gem from Stash

Hope I have included everything.

Fulfilling a Challenge!!!!

Although it wasn't particularly a challenge as such, Paul from Crafty Blogocks, thought it might be challenging for me to create a masculine style Tote.

Well I think I have done it.................

I changed the handle. Rather than curved I made it chunky and angular. If you like this style I'm working on the details of how to make it and I'll post them as soon as it is done.
I really like this big screw detail, it was made using 2 circles punched from card, one cut in half and trimmed slightly and the other left, both were then distressed, inked then 3Ded.
This is definitely my Husbands style, "Grease Monkey" and wouldn't look out of place on his work bench.

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to create the dimpled effect on the metallic card stock.

I heat embossed the background box card, and used lots of black ink wiped and sponged to give a real metal workshop look.

I started this post at 11.36 this morning and with all the interruptions have only just finished it.

Hope you like

PS: I'm having a break from 3D papercraft and am going to make some cards to post. Getting in some practise for my new venture as a Design Team Member, although, as a twist i might bring more regular 3D projects to the House of Sugar.

See you Soon

My New Creation!

I have had this as an idea for a while, as I keep seeing these totes everywhere, but would rather spend the money on stamps or other goodies, so I made one instead!! I'm really happy with the results.
Not sure of a name, being playing with the idea of Tote-ally Pockets, or Plentiful Pockets Tote.
I'll have to think some more!!!!
I really went to town on the card, It initially uses 1 piece of A3, then lots of A4 for the mats and layers.

This is the frontish view.

And this is the backish view!!

This is a close up of Pocket No. 1. I quite like this style as you can easily slot something in without the pocket sticking out to much, as it tapers down.
Also, due to my fantastic news this week and its the holidays I decided to treat my self to some more new stamps, These are so cute and such a good size. The are a new Collection, Fairy Doodles from a company called BuzzCraft. I got these from a local craft shop.

I also added a little detail using some papermania flowers I have and want to use up before buying any more. The leaf punch is another one I bought from a local craft shop, can't remember the company who made it.

Plus some gorgeous stitched Grosgrain from Stamping Up.

This is Pocket No. 2. This is a more traditional kind with a flap, very useful for more little surprises.

And here it is open!!!

Pocket No. 3 is a slimmer version of No. 1

And finally No. 4 is an opened top pocket, with scalloped edge detail.

I thought I would also go to town on the inside and created an exploding box style liner. It also makes it really sturdy if you want to use it to store tools, or pencils.

I hope you like this, I have made more in different colours, for different purposes so will share with you soon.
Thank you to everyone for their well wishes and congratulations as I embark on my new venture.
If it wasn't for all the fantastic people out there and their supportive comments I don't think I would be able to do it.

Thank you everybody who has already left me a comment and congratulated me.
But a really big thank you has to go to my Stampin Up Mom, who, (I know it sound cheesy) I really wouldn't be here if it wasn't for her, Julie from Jule's Japes, has been great and soooooo supportive, I really wouldn't be blogging if she hadn't encouraged every step of the way, thank you, thank you, thank you, YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!

A Final End of Year Teacher's Present.

This is the last teacher's present I have had to make. This time for my son's Y2 Teacher. SHe also taught my daughter, and she is a fantastic teacher.

This was made using one of Lauren Meader's new templates, If you purchase don't be put off its much easier than it looks!! LOL!!

I used a stamp that I bought from Dies to Dies for. It is Wendy from a stamp set from The Greeting Farm. I think it is really suited to a teacher.

The sentiment is from the Sincere Salutations, its a brilliant set from Stampin' Up.
The flowers are Prima, brads are also Stampin' Up. The papers were from my stash.
Last day at school day, can't wait!!!!!
Will be back tomorrow with the reveal of the surprises for the children.
Take care,
Hugs Sarah B X

I'm still here! ..... Just .......!!

Blimey what a week! its been manic, so much to do and so little time!!

Here is what I was up to Yesterday at Jules' Cupcake class, It was a great day and I met some lovely ladies, Hiya all!!!!

This is a box which holds four cards. Its was fairly easy to make once you had worked out the instructions, which I don't do well, I usually get stuck in and learn by error!!!!

A little bit of added detail and a lovely gift for someone is created. It could become a gift box to hold ingredients to make cupcakes.
The ladies in the class came up with lots of ideas how this could be adapted for different occasions. A Christmas Tree, a Rocket, a House, the list was endless!

Here are the cards that go inside the box. I'll be back tomorrow with more details on each of these cards.
Hope you have a lovely Sunday
Thanks for popping by

Another End of Year Card, and at Last a Challenge!!

This card is for Cameron's Headteacher. We have been associated with Cameron's Infant School and Nursery for 7 years, its such a long time. I remember the day when Emily first went to Nursery, just 7 days after Cameron was born. Seems like Yesterday and now he will be leaving to go to Junior School.

I Love these Sugar Nellie Stamps, and think they can suit all ages. This one in particular is my favourite. I also love these colours, perfect challenge from Passion for Promarkers!

Although the layout is perfect to the sketch, the card really did need the extra flower!! The sentiment is from the Fresh Cuts Stamp Set, which arrived yesterday, (been looking at this one for a while and finally weakened!LOL!!)
I also felt that the flowers and leaves didn't really need colouring so left them white for a change!

And a spot of doodling, again something I've not done much of!
Hope you like
