The Sugar Bowl Challenge No 41.

This is the sketch for the Challenge over at the Sugar Bowl this fortnight, curtesy of the lovely Marlene. What a challenge. Make sure you get yourself over to see the rest of the Design Team and the fabulous prize on offer.

Here is my interpretation of Marlene's Sketch, with the option of "something old, something new".

I decided to go for a Gate-fold card, using the centre circle as the overlap.

I struggled with the star detail, but decided to add the swirls in that formation, as i didn't really have anything suitable (don't have a star nestie!!!)

I used a gorjuss girl - an oldie - as I haven't used them for ages. She was coloured with my promarkers to match my favourite MME papers.

The new part of the challenge was this punch, I haven't used it much and its probably my newest purchase.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge 38

This is the sketch for this fortnight's Challenge over at The Sugar Bowl

The option is "Scallops"Another sensational prize...

A purple Leanne Ellis Candy Box full of stamps, ribbons and other goodies and a 'Trinkets' bracelet!

Here is my interpretation of the Sketch.

I decided to turn the sketch on its side, and omit the scallop option.

I used one of the Gorgeous Girl Stamps from Funky Kits, not used this one for ages.

A luscious bow from Thick Ribbon - available from Stampin' Up

And some adhesive pearly gems. The Black and white spotty paper is from Magnolia, and the others are from Stampin' Up

Quick post today, life seems to be getting in he way of crafting at the moment.

Hopefully will be back tomorrow, when things have settled in and calmed down. For the next day or so I need to be Mum and New Teacher!!

OMG!!!!! I've Been Published!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe I have been published.

Over a month ago, Karen at Sugar Nellie asked me if I would be interested in producing a card and instructions, using a Sugar Nellie stamp, for Papercraft Essential, Stamping Supplement.

Well after thinking about about it for all of about 1 second, I jumped at the opportunity.

Here it is!!!!!

This months Papercraft Essentials, Issue 50!!!!!

I really don't even care that they spelt my name wrong.

I am so thrilled!!!!

It was a tight deadline, but I managed it!!!!!

This is the original card, unfortunately I had to send the card to the Publishers so I no longer have it.

I feel so honoured. and am so grateful to a lot of people.

Passion for Promarkers

Here is my entry for this weeks Passion for Promarkers, I still love them!!!!

I took a book on Holiday with me, and needed a book mark, so made one using one of my fav Sugar Nellie Stamps the Flower Girl from the Gorjuss Girls Set 2.

I love her she is so simple to colour and is truly beautiful.

I have used all four colour from the challenge, along with Cocoa and cinnamon for the hair.

I also love the new sizzlet die I got from Cutting Edge Craft (link in last post) and tried to make felt flowers, as a trend a the moment seems to be dimension and texture.

Here is the finished article. I think I am going to make more of these as pressies for people the are really easy to make and very quick.

Sneaky Peek Revealed

Hi all!

Do you remember that a couple of weeks ago I've gave you a sneaky peek at a project I was working on?!?

Well its finished. It took ages.

It has been a real labour of love.

I have always wanted to create a Word Book. I created a small one for Emily, my daughter's birthday. But I have never had the opportunity or inspiration to create a larger one. Until now!!!

This one is just GORJUSS, that's the word I used and I used the Gorjuss Girls and my Daughter as my Inspiration.

I'm not going to type much, I thought I'd just let you browse the photos!

CardStock: Chocolate Chip (Stampin Up), 2 shades of Pink from Papermill, scraps of Green for leaves

Papers: Sweet Always from Stampin Up

Ink: Chocolate Chip, from Stampin Up

Bound together using the Bind-it-all

Ribbon: Chocolate Chip Stitched Grosgrain from Stampin Up

Images: Gorjuss Girls, Coloured with my Promarkers, using predominately Pumpkin and Cinnamon, but others were used, such as Blossom

Sentiments: From free verses sites on Internet, copied and pasted into word, and edited.

I loved making this book! and I hope you have enjoyed looking at it too!

Raspberry Ribbon Challenge!

Hi everybody, Well I'd enter many challenges but I really like what Mandy did this week for the Raspberry Ribbon Sketch, and as its half term I thought I'd have a go!

Not really sure whether I have done it right or not but this is my take on the Sketch.

I love the Gorjuss Girl Stamps, they lend themselves so well to being coloured with my Promarkers.

The background paper I have used was my inspiration for the colours. They are a retired set from Stampin' Up, called Fall Flowers Designer Series Paper.

The cardstock is from my stash, which matched up surprisingly well.

The ribbon, which is a must for the challenge, was also from my stash, I bought it ages ago from Hobby Craft, they sell small rolls for 49p, colours matched perfectly.

The sentiment is the Oval All Stamp Set also from Stampin' Up, with the Scallop Oval and Oval Punches.

I hope it fits in with hthe Challenge,

Orders, orders, orders!!!!

You know I've gone ages and not had any orders, now all of a sudden they are coming thick and fast.

The lady who order the Irish Dancing Girl Card, has ordered another one. Similar style, but with something different on it. Suitable for an eleven year old, and in pink.

The main colour is Pink, but I felt it needed lifting with a stronger accent colour. I used Basic Grey Papers, as a start, and one of the papers had Teal in it, hence the Teal Swirls.

This Gorjuss Girl Image is beautiful, I coloured her using my favourite Promarkers, I had to mix colours to get the right shade, cos there wasn't one that looked quite right with the papers. Its a combination of Spice, Cinnamon, and Pale Pink.

Only one more day before the Passion of Promarkers Challenges begin!!

I printed the "Happy Birthday" on the computer, using Papyrus font.

I then layered it on a circle and scallop circle.

I added lots of swirls, cut from my Quikutz Revolution. They are really lovely! Then added lots of punched Retro Flowers, layered in 2 sizes and Blinged up!!

I also added the detail inside, I really love doing this now.
