Anyone for Anya

Arghhhhhh!!!!!!
I'm getting to the point that I will be glad to see the back of 2010. The last few weeks have been awful!!!!!
Not only was my school closed for a week because of the snow the roads and pavements were so bad we were snowed into our road!!!!.
Then just when you think its all going and life is getting back to normal, a mains pipe burst at school and we had a major flood to deal with so have been closed for a further week.
I'm hoping everything will be good to go back today. So as a result we have had to cancel everything we had planned for Christmas with the children and make do!!!!
Then I think my computer is slowly dying as everything seems to be taking forever to load, if it loads at all!!!!!
Well enough of the moaning and whinging!!!!!
Here is my contribution to this weeks Anyone for Anya - Its a colour Challenge with the them Shabby Chic Christmas, make sure you head over to see what the DT have come up with to inspire you and to see what prize is on offer.
I used a new image by CC Designs, called Bauble Emma, but cropped the image to fit my card design.

I stamped some yummy baubles from a new Stamping Up, punched out, glitter and embellished with pearls.

Here is the completed card, I distressed the mats and layered them up alternating Craft, blue and pink. A little taffeta ribbon late, and this is the final result. Unfortunately I was so exhausted from the clean up I didn't get it finished til Sunday, hence why its not on the Blog. But the girls have worked so hard I had to post to support them.

Anyway here is to a better week and hopefully, fingers crossed it'll be a smooth ride til Christmas.

Take care,
Hugs Sarah B X

New Anyone for Anya Challenge

Second Post Today, Scroll down for Kenny K Challenge Project!!
I am so excited about this challenge and have been waiting for ages (well it seems like it) to do it and share.
Each month one of our Challenges is going to be a Calendar piece. I have been wanting an excuse to make one and this has pushed me to get on with it!
My first Picture isn't par to the challenge, but I want to start at the beginning. This is going to be the cover to my Birthday Calendar.
I have used my fastly growing favourite papers, LOVE LETTER from Stampin' Up. The Ribbon is also form Stampin' Up - Stripped Grosgrain. The lettering is a Sizzlet Set called Fruit Smoothie - I do love this and it has been much used lately!
The Image is a CC Designs - another favourite of mine! Called Balloon Emma. I have also combined two techniques here. I have paper Pieced the Balloon and Emma's Top, but then to give some depth I have used a promarker to add shading. Vanilla is the Promarker colour which matches very well with these papers.
Now onto this week's Challenge - BIRTHDAY CALENDAR - ANYTHING GOES
Here is JANUARY - I have a few birthdays in January, but the most important one is my Hubbie's so I have dedicated this page to him.
I have used SU Papers - CELEBRATIONS. I have also used a SU Stamp Set - PARTY THIS WAY. I love them both. Actually there isn't much about this years SU Cattie I don't like!
I stamped and layered up the balloon. No surprise the image is Balloon Trevor!

I have stamp some balloons and layered them up. I stamped Happy Birthday onto some plain ribbon, attached a button and stuck to card using diamond effect.

Here are a couple of links if you want to use the same calendar page:

Kenny K - Monochrome Christmas Challenge

I was putting this challenge card off all week cos I just couldn't think what to do. So I sat and sorted out my papers to get them into a sort of colour division, and stubbled across these old papers from Stampin' Up. I think they are really soft and muted and the card just seemed to grow from there.
I also saw this card style a while ago on Create and Craft and had to have a go. It is lovely. It doesn't really have a name but its just a Diagonal Easel card. I love the image I have used, Its defo one of my favourites from Kenny K. She is called Download Diva.
I have kept the card very simple. I used the new Ornament Stamp Set and Punch to create a little stopper for the front, and some very lovely Satin Ribbon from my stash. The snowflakes are cut from a sizzlet die I have had for ages. These have been layered and finished with the new buttons from Stampin'Up. FInally it was finished off with a sentiment, again from Stampin' Up and a snowflake charm.
I hope you like.
If so have a go you could win some of Kenny K's fabulous Images.
Pop over and check out all the other DT's inspirational creations.
I have scheduled another post for later and I'm really excited about it. Make sure you check out Anyone for Anya at 9.00 and here a little later.
Take care, its very icy outside.

Simply Sassy New Release Blog Hop!!!!

If you came here to see that I have finally created and posted, you have come to the middle of a hop, then pop back to Sugar Nellie to begin, if you have arrived here from the fabulous Tiets then you are on the right track
Karen, of Sugar Nellie, is so good at what she does and I believe she has really hit on another winner with Krista's Images. I love them! They have so much character and those eyes are to die for!!!
This new Set is No. 3 in the Series, and has a vague resemblence to some very gorgeous and lovely characters of the Twilight Series, can you guess who???
This image is called 'Romantic Dreamer'
I have coloured her using my promarkers and have matched them with the Beautiful new Papers from Stampin' Up, Love letters, they are fast becoming my favourite!!!! and very apt for these images and card theme!
The second image is 'Deep in Thought', I created a Joy Fold Card, with Deep in thought as the image to be revealled, as the Girl looks like she is dreaming about her man!!!
I went slightly over board with the heart border punch from Martha Stewart, but I like it.
This lettering was cut from the Vintage Market Sizzlet Strip, by Tim Holtz.
The stamps will be available to buy from Funky Kits from the 4th Dec.
Now head over to the very Lovely and ubber talented Judy and be inspired by her creation
Hope you like.
