Another Shaker Box Mini Book

Here is another design I created as a result of the Challenge Paul set me. These are really sweet little gifts for all occasions. And what better occasion to celebrate but the birth of a baby. So I created a baby mini book.

The cardstock is Pale Blue from my Stash, I have used the Bundle of Joy Stamp Set from Stampin' Up. I have used one stamp to create the background and the Giraffe for the main design, he is so sweet!!!:)

This is the sentiment within the set, stamped in Bashful Blue onto white cardstock and then punched out and layered onto a blue circle, and stamped blue star!

This Giraffe is so cute, he is stamped in Memento and then coloured in using a Stampin' Up Marker - Bashful Blue.

I also used some 1/4 in Blue Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, from Stampin' Up.

And here is the mini book ready for little photos and special messages and information.

I am still working on my special project, hopefully will be finished soon, but work was manic last week and I was so tired. The children are being very good considering they are not allowed out during lunch time because of the icy snow, but they are very tiring.

A New Die!

Sizzix have brought out some fab dies recently. This next project was created using one.

It is not like all the other dies, this one is specially made to cut out Chipboard! Well what's different about that, all Sizzix dies do that! Yes but these are better.

For more substantial boxes they have created these to also cut and score chipboard. other dies do tend to break the board on the scorelines these are much neater!!

I don't have a use for this box, I just made it out of the scraps from My Isla Projects.

All the mats have been cut by me, I think they could be a little neater, especially the curve on the flap, Oh well it was my first.

Isla Part 2!

Here is another 3D project.

This time it is a simple box made using the fab dies Paul sent me, Thank you!!!!! I may have to but it now!!!

I have co-ordinated this project with the card I posted a few days ago.

I have used a Sugar Nellie Stamp, from the Home grown range, this one is called Isla.

Then layers of Retro flowers, and a Stampin' Up Gem Brad.

A Challenge Met!!!!

Hi all this is a scheduled post, should be at work today pending the snow!!!!! I don't think I can really ask for more time off!!!!!

Anyway today's post is getting back to something I love 3 D projects, and a challenge set me by Paul

He asked if I could give some inspiration on how to use these Sizzix Shaker Boxes. I looked on various sites but couldn't find anything I liked, until I looked at some videos of a lady making Folded Books, suitable for children. I have made these books many times with the children at school, they are a fun and different way to present work. So I set to work to incorporate the two ideas, a Shaker Box and mini book.

This is what I came up with.......................

A Mini Album and Case.

I used a Stampin' Up Set I've not used for a while called True Friend. I used one stamp all over the main box. Then gilded the front edges with Gold Embossing Powder.

As a feature of interest I stamped the Flower Image once in Chocolate chip on Cream hammered card and then one embossed in gold. these were then layered using a new Stampin' Up Embellishment and a gem brad. I layered these up and then created a bellie band to go round the box, with the added feature of ribbon, from my stash and a sentiment from Pocket Silhouettes (Stampin' Up) punched out with the word window punch (Stampin' Up). Punched with a small hole and threaded onto the ribbon.

That's the Case!!

A sneak at the album, through the acetate window. ( I think a little embossing would look fab on this window but it wasn't heat proof so couldn't do that this time!)

It doesn't look mini does it, but it is only 7cm square! I think it look very luxurious, with the gold edging (I've not embossed for ages!! Can you tell!!!) The Ribbon is from my stash and the embellishments were from Stampin' Up but unfortunately they are retired, but the have some different embellishments which may suit, have a look at their cattie - see side bar for an Independent Demonstrator.

And when opened the pages of the mini books are revealed ready to be journaled by the recipient.

I hope this gives one idea, I have made another project like this but in a different colour way, and for a different recipient.

Meet Elise

Elise is probably the most glamorous of the new Home Grown Girls, and just in time for Valentines day.

I spent Saturday morning creating this card. I want to do something a little different, as I feel like I have just been just making cards for the sake of it, maybe its the Post Christmas feeling!!!!!

Anywhere I went for a Trifold card, with a curved side. I layered up some papers I had in my stash, which I also used as the colour theme for Elise.

I spent a little time doing some techniques I was wanting to try. The Mat that Elise is sitting on was cut using a Nestie, then I ran it through my Bigshot in a Cuttlebug Folder, giving it a wooden texture then I pressed my Versa Mark Embossing Ink Pad over it and Embossed it with Clear Glitter Embossing Powder. I then used some Scrapbook House Rub ons I have had for at least 3 years for the sentiment and layered it onto some co-ordinating card.

I dug out my flowers and found some that went with the colour scheme and used some embellishments I bought when I went to the Doncaster Dome! The leaves were cut using a punch I have from co-ordinating paper, and inked the edges.

Here is a dimensional shot, Which shows the edging pieces I put together. I used a Martha Stewart Punch, with strips of paper and finally some ribbons, unfortunately these are no longer available as I bought them during a sale they were having.

Not really sure what I think, but I hope you like.

I'm going to play today on something a little special. I have enough Projects now to post for the week so a can get stuck into a project I have been wanting to do for a while. It should be ready to photograph and show next weekend!!!!!! I hope that has been enough of a teaser.

Say Hello to Isla

Here is another image from Sugar Nellie, available from Funky Kits now. Her name is Isla, and she is part of a collection of 7 young girlies.

Here is the card.

I have used bits and pieces from my stash. The sentiments are from Stampin' Up's Stamp Set Pocket Silhouettes and were punched out using their Word Window Punch. More retros punched flowers creating blooms and Stampin' Up Gem Brads.

Here is a dimensional shot showing some great dimension to those handmade blooms.

We have had more snow today, so stayed in all day crafting, I wondering if I'm loosing my mojo though!!

Another Cute Baby

I love babies, don't get me wrong I'm not looking to have another one, but there is something just so appealing about a baby's skin and smell. This adorable little girl is called Caitlyn and she is available from Funky Kits.

She is the last of the Baby Images available from December.

My resolution is still holding out. I have not bought any new paper for ages. This is a paper I bought from a local craft shop, its not got a name, but it seemed to suit this image.
The sentiment is from Wonderful Words Stamp Set available from Stampin' Up. The ribbons are also from my stash.

Its Friday and the weekend, I feel a bit of a fraud, having only work two days.

Meet Raven

Here is another Image from the Home Grown Range, from Sugar Nellie, available at Funky Kits.

I don't know about you but I think she looks like she is on a mission.

I wanted to used different colours for this image, they are very strong, and The pink dress and orange scarf set the green off well.

Not sure what the papers are called , but again they are from my stash. I added a little extra detail with the heart charm and the Tim Holt Tickets. I really do think Raven Loves live and is really living it.

Introducing Martha

I love this image, its fun and will suite most occasions. Her name is Martha, and she is available from Funky Kits. She is part of the Seven Images released in December. She is also the second one I have introduced you to so far, so only five to go!

I have stamped her and coloured her using my promarkers. I then followed a sketch by Tiets. She creates lots and they make card making so easy.

Again I have used papers from my stash. These I have hung onto for ages, they are from Daisy Bucket, but needs must and they have been used. I have also added some papers from Stampin' Up in Rose Red. I inked all the edges in Rose Red ink, again from Stampin' Up (have a look at my side bar for an Independent Demonstrator).

I also inked the image using Close to Cocoa, again a Stampin' Up ink. The white card look to stark, the brown toned it down well.

The sentiment here, is also from Stampin' Up, from a set called Pocket Silhouettes, and the ribbon is a scrap of Chocolate chip 1/2" Grosgrain. The "Friendship" is a stamp from Wonderful Words, again Stampin' Up.

Hope you like, more on the way. I'm off school today cos of the snow, Think we'll be back tomorrow, unless we have some more tonight, which looks unlikely at the moment, Its very sunny and beautiful. We have been asked to be productive while at home by our head teacher, so far I have been very productive ;) LOL!!!

Back to work today, suppose I can't really complain, but I have really enjoyed this Christmas with my fabulous little family.

Anyway, Here is another Image available from Funky Kits. Its is by far my favourite of all the baby stamps. It was such a fun and quick image to colour. I think he also looks like he could be a handful!!!

I wanted to keep the card really simple and have only added detail in the paper and layers.

This is another sentiment from the Vellum Sheet i found in my stash.
